The Construction department is responsible for all aspects of home construction and renovation. Habitat construction projects include new home construction, renovation of donated properties, weatherization, and exterior home repair. All projects are completed in accordance with local building codes. Subcontractors are used when construction must be completed by licensed professionals (electrical, plumbing, HVAC) or when THHFH deems it prudent to use professional contractors (foundations, roofing, drywall). Otherwise all aspects of home construction are completed with volunteers under the guidance and supervision of our construction team.
Description: The Construction Manager works closely with the Construction Director and Construction Site Leaders to ensure that all projects are completed in a timely fashion within budget and project scope. As outlined below, the Construction Manager has primary responsibility for site supervision, engaging subcontractors as required, ensuring that appropriate permits and inspections are completed in a timely fashion, overseeing Truman Habitat’s construction equipment and materials inventory, ensuring that company-owned vehicles and property are maintained, and serving as the construction liaison with Truman Habitat’s partner families.

This position requires constant standing and walking and the ability to lift and position up to 50 pounds as well as frequent bending, squatting, and repetitive motion. This position will occasionally be exposed to extremes in weather (e.g., heat, cold, wind, rain, snow, ice, etc.)
